24th June 2015

What a great weekend we have had.  On Saturday we had the Junior Risby

Footballclub tournament and fete.  There was a huge turnout.  Risby Village hall ran the BBQ and we took just under £500 in sales of burgers and hot dogs.  As soon as we know the final total i will let you know.  It will all be going towards the Multi-use games area.  Well done to Aaron Burrows for organising such a fantastic event.  On the Sunday was the Petanque and Community Garden opening day.  Bev Carey had organised a lovely french-themed lunch.  Lots of people attended and tried their hand at a game of petanque.  I shall be requiring quite a bit more practice and perhaps a bit less prosecco if i want to improve my game!  We are looking for someone to run a Petanque club so let me know if you are interested.

Coming up on Saturday 4th July.  In the morning is the Farmers Market where Julie, Angela and myself will be running the cafe.  Homemade cakes, scones and sausage rolls a plenty.  From 4 pm we have the American Themed BBQ.  Please do come and support us.  It should be a great village event.  All funds from the Cafe and the BBQ will go towards the MUGA.  If you would like to help on the BBQ or with the cake stall please contact me.
